Testimonials
Hi Eve: Thank you so much for everything with the new Avalanche. I absolutely love it! Everyone was great to work with and I know you guys gave me an awesome deal. It's funny because a week ago I had no plans on getting a new car anytime soon, and yet here we are. Please pass along my appreciation to everyone involved!
Take Care,

Dear Mr. Knudtsen,
I would like to share with you my extreme gratitude for the wonderful service I received from your staff and GM.
In 1963 when I was 17, I bought a 1954 Belair Convertible. I have been an owner and enthusiast of Chevy products ever since. My enthusiasm has been reaffirmed because of some key people in your company! What started out to be a stressful situation, ended up a pleasant experience with a positive outcome. My wife and I would like to commend everyone that had a role in this experience.
On October 8th of this year, I was heading out of town for a camping weekend. I was driving my 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with Duramax Diesel/Allison transmission and pulling my fully loaded camper-trailer, when my truck lost power and broke down.
On October 13th, since this is the first diesel vehicle I’ve ever owned, I talked to my neighbor Jeff Davis; owner of Davis Diesel in Spokane, then had my truck towed to his shop. It was determined that several fuel injectors were bad. Jeff recommended contacting Chevrolet for possible warranty repair. He suggested that I send my truck to Appleway Chevrolet since it was just a few blocks from his shop.
Appleway Chevrolet refused any assistance once they found that the “5 years” part of the 5 year/100,000 mile warranty had expired approximately 60 days prior, even though the mileage on my truck was only 73,570 miles.
I have done business with Knudtsen Chevrolet in the past and was so pleased, that I even told you that I would return to your business for my future repairs. I mentioned this at Davis Diesel and they recommended that I contact Jeff Long in the service department at Knudtsen Chevrolet.
I contacted Jeff Long and had the truck towed to Knudtsen Chevrolet. Jeff said that since the warranty had expired, I would need to contact General Motors Customer Service. Marjorie McGuire at GM Customer Service assigned case number 71-879953491 and stated we would need to have the problem diagnosed by a Chevrolet Technician before they could determine whether or not GM would consider a warranty repair. However, the lead diesel technician was on vacation elk hunting until October 19th, which I completely understood, being a hunter myself (there are priorities), and I was willing to wait for him.
When the technician, Brandon Lickfold returned from hunting (he got his elk, yaaaaay!), he determined that several of the fuel injectors would need to be replaced. Jeff Long had consulted with Ken Loper, the Fix Operations Manager in the Knudtsen office and he said that Chevrolet would cover the cost for up to 4 of the injectors needed. If more than 4 injectors were needed, Chevrolet would cover 50% of the cost and I would be responsible for the other 50%.
Every day, someone from GM Customer Service, or Jeff Long himself would contact me with updates on the progress.
Upon completion of repairs that required replacing 4 injectors, I was only charged a deductible of $100 which is the same amount that would have been required if the warranty was still in effect. Presumably the balance was covered by Chevrolet.
In summary, I am extremely happy with the service I received from Knudtsen Chevrolet; in particular Jeff Long, Ken Loper, and Brandon Lickfold. I am also very happy with the service I received from General Motors. I will continue to take my truck to Knudtsen Chevrolet for future repairs (I have already had my transmission serviced since then) and will recommend your dealership to all my friends and family members.
Thank you for the great service. A copy of this letter has been forwarded to Ronald K. McCants at GM via email.
Sincerely,
Terry “TJ” and Randee Johnson
