OnStar For Any Car

This is big news from OnStar, they’re going mainstream. OnStar – Any Car for $299

OnStar has always been exclusive to GM, but now the plans are to support all vehicles and offer the system through Best Buy for $299.

Brilliant move, this will open lots of doors as people want “On Demand” OnStar activation and integration to gain access to services, products and one-on-one help.

This is in no small part due to the Ford 911 Assist program that SYNC has that competes with OnStar.

Perhaps SYNC will follow suit and show up in stores like Best Buy, seems like this would bring a very nice revenue stream and open the door to more automotive manufacturer based products that consumers can add on themselves when they want to.
